OSAKA (October 23) – Host team Suita community wrestling school crowned four champions and prevailed over 63 other teams in the 25th Oshidate Cup Kansai boys and girls wrestling championships in western Japan.
The Suita club, which has now won 24 of the 25 tourney meetings after racking up 64 points, had a scare thrown into them by the Yokkaichi Juniors with five champions and 63 points. The Yaezu (Shizuoka) juniors were third with four champs and 51 points, followed by Tokyo's Gold Kids with 48.
Leading the charge for Yokkaichi was seven-time national schoolboy champion Jintaro Motoyama, who won the 44kg crown for fifth and sixth graders.
