JAKARTA (June 9) – Japanese wrestlers could only notch two wins and had to settle for a pair of fifth-place finishes in greco-roman on the opening day of the Asian junior wrestling championships.
Hiroki Kimura and Jun Saito, both of the Nippon Sports Sciences University, opened with wins at 55kg and 60kg, respectively but could advance no further. Meanwhile, Akira Osaka (96kg) of Waseda University and Shogo Sakamoto (120kg) of Toyo University finished in fifth place despite a pair of losses each.
